Orthodontics
Our dentists at Riverstone Dental Clinic will provide basic orthodontics including space maintainers and some simple retainers and orthodontic appliances. An orthodontic screening will be done and the patient will be referred to the local orthodontist if braces or any intervention is indicated.
We work together with the orthodontist and do provide teeth extractions when necessary and part of orthodontic treatment. It is important that patients have a regular check-up and cleaning prior to getting braces to ensure there are no cavities and that everything is in good shape before you invest the time and money into braces.
It is also very important to maintain excellent oral hygiene and come for regular 6 month check-ups while your braces are on. You may be seeing the orthodontist on a regular basis but they are only looking at how your teeth are moving and will often not look for cavities unless they are really big and obvious.
